What is clear is that whenever an allergic reaction occurs because you have previously existed, at some point, exposure to one of the many allergens that exist. Once it has started reaction allergic, the immune system very sensitive to certain substances, wrongly believed that the body is being attacked by them, when in reality, harmless substances are not harmful at all. However, in this alert, the immune system begins to release eosinophils and IgE, as well as other types of cells, called antibodies, to address the alleged invasion, usually infectious viruses and bacteria, which believes it is occurring at the time. All this translates into our external body inflammation levels more or less weight and discomfort of some magnitude.

Reactions in general are usually not too important, although dependent on many factors in our environment. These irritations are often hives, swelling, rashes and itching, but sometimes can also create some danger, especially in cases where there are breathing problems or blood pressure falls.

Experts generally agree that the best way to treat allergic reactions is prevention, that is, try to stay away from allergens to know. In this way, able to avoid the unpleasant symptoms and irritations that cause allergies each year in much of the population.

Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that originates in melanocytes (cells that contain melanin, a pigment responsible for tanning) and is the most aggressive, because it can spread to other parts of the body through the lymphatic vessels or blood. Generally attacks people whose skin is damaged by the sun and its incidence is higher in women.

The two types of common skin cancer, basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma are highly curable. However, the melanoma, the third type of common skin cancer is more dangerous.

Symptoms of skin cancer

Skin cancer can manifest itself in many different ways. The most common sign is a change in texture or color of skin, a wound that will not heal or a small lump soft and shiny or reddish brown, or red flat area.

Not all skin changes are caused by cancer, but it is always advisable to consult a doctor. Signs of a possible melanoma are changes in the appearance of moles (hardening, swelling, color changes, mainly growth) itchy, runny or bleeding. Men have a higher incidence of melanomas on the trunk, head or neck, while women tend to present in the arms and legs.

Skin cancer prevention

The best way to prevent skin cancer is sun protection.

Use a waterproof sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 15 every time you’re out.

Avoid outdoor activities between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm, when the sun is most intense.

Wear a hat and sunglasses

It may be a passing episode or a permanent condition, whatever the cause, not only can cause skin disorders but premature skin aging and can be more vulnerable to allergies.

Sensitive skin is one of the most common skin type affects all women (and men) at some point in their lives, and especially those found in pre-menopausal. First you say that you need to know your skin type (sensitive, dry, oily) and also check carefully mind that all the products you normally use are appropriate for your skin type.

If you want to know if many of the complaints or problems you suffer, correspond to this case, I commented that recognition (sensitive skin) is quite easy as it manifests:

Itching, peeling, grain, burning and swelling are some of the symptoms that indicate an imbalance in the defense of the epidermis.

In healthy skin, the defense cells to detect and neutralize the offending agent no consequence. But on sensitive skin its react disproportionately defensive cells, causing a series of reactions that are then translated into irritation, discomfort, etc.

The horny layer of the skin, the surface that protects us from external aggression and this does nothing to defend if you have sensitive skin. Moreover, the problem is that this barrier is somewhat worn, peeling, dry and unable to defend itself properly.

A person with allergies has increased sensitivity to specific substances also known as allergens. According to the National Institutes of more than fifty million people in the United States suffer from allergies each year. Allergies are the sixth leading cause of chronic disease in the United States.

What are skin allergies?

Some skin allergies are:

Eczema is an allergic skin disorder that often affects the face, elbows and knees. The common symptom is intense itching that can turn into lesions or blisters. Among the most common triggers are allergens, perspiration, and emotional stress, eating certain foods and contact with irritants such as wool, pets, soaps or other substances.

Urticaria is characterized by inflammation of the skin accompanied by redness and itching. The most common cause of hives can be a viral infection, drugs, food or latex. Some people have chronic hives that occurs in reaction to particular circumstances. Scratching, pressure or “nerves” can aggravate urticaria. The best remedy is to remove the provocative factors.

Contact dermatitis is a reaction produced by contact of skin with an allergic substance that can cause redness, swelling, or itching of the skin. Poison ivy is the most common cause. Other plants, metals, cosmetics and medicines also cause a reaction. Allergic dermatitis can be treated by wiping the skin with soap and water after contact with an allergic substance

What are the symptoms of allergies?

The most common symptoms of allergies are rhinitis (commonly known as a stuffy nose) or hay fever or pollen. These allergic symptoms can become chronic respiratory conditions such as asthma.

Rhinitis or hay fever or pollen is an inflammation of the mucous membranes that occurs when allergens touch the lining of the nose. Symptoms include sneezing, congestion, runny nose, itchy nose, palate, throat, eyes and ears.

How can I control my allergies?

Common indoor allergens such as cockroach droppings, animal dander, household dust mites and mold can be reduced through the direct action of the landlord or the tenant. Work with a health professional to develop a plan to control their allergies.

This may involve taking medications. It may also mean avoiding or reducing exposure to or ingestion of substances that trigger your allergies.
